Hello there, thank you for stopping by! I’m so happy to have you on my blog.
Every friendship begins with a story, and since I see you, my lovely reader, as a friend, I wanted to share mine… My name is Marta and I created A Girl Who Travels to inspire, support and encourage women to travel and live their lives with a sense of unapologetic passion. This is why you will see the theme of self-development, happiness coaching, and travel intertwine throughout the blog. I’m currently based between London and Stockholm, but that’s not where my story begins. My love affair with travel started when I quit my office job in Northern England back in 2010, to spend half a year travelling solo across South and South East Asia. It appears that I’m yet to come back from that trip as my life’s been filled with travel, adventure and reckless decisions ever since.
I took bucket showers in Laos, swam in the Arabian sea at midnight, I was an extra in a Bollywood film, channelled my inner Carrie as I moved to New York, temple-hopped in Kyoto, moved to Italy on a spur of a moment, travelled all the way to Bali in the hopes of putting down roots, only to end up booking a one-way flight to London shortly after, where I’ve been living for nearly 4 years since.
I’m a living proof that embracing the chaos, following your heart and marching to the beat of your own drum has, in fact, a way of taking you to all the right places! Travel has made me laugh, cry and got me to step out of my comfort zone but most importantly, it enriched my life in ways I could have never imagined.
A Girl Who Travels is a blog aimed at those who, like me, yearn to travel and experience new, exciting things, one trip at a time. I focus on female travel, affordable luxury and self-development, particularly mindset and happiness coaching. I’m here to encourage and inspire you to step out of your comfort zone and live an unapologetically passionate life – the kind of life we all deserve but are sometimes too scared to reach for. I believe in sharing authentic experiences to encourage, inspire and show you how and where to travel, and how to make the best out of each adventure.
Whether you’re interested in working with me, have a travel-related question or just want to say hi, drop me a line at [email protected] – I’d love to hear from you!

Happy travels and thank you for stopping by! x
