Hello there, thank you for stopping by! I’m a London-based travel blogger with a serious case of wanderlust. My love affair with travel began when I quit my office job in Northern England back in 2010, to travel solo across South and South East Asia. It appears that I’m yet to come back from that trip as my life’s been filled with travel, adventure and reckless decisions ever since.
I took bucket showers in Laos, swam in the Arabian sea at midnight, I was an extra in a Bollywood film, channelled my inner Carrie as I moved to New York, survived a near-kidnapping experience in Istanbul, temple-hopped in Kyoto, fell in love with Italy, aaand moved to Bali only to end up booking a one-way flight to London where I’ve been living happily since October 2015.
I’m a living proof that embracing the chaos, following your heart and marching to the beat of your own drum has, in fact, a way of taking you to all the right places!
Travel has made me laugh, cry and got me to step out of my comfort zone but most importantly, it enriched my life in ways I could have never imagined.
A Girl Who Travels is a blog aimed at those who, like me, yearn to travel and experience new, exciting things, one trip at a time. I write about female travel, location-independence, unique travel destinations and all in all travel advice. I’m here to encourage and inspire you to step out of your comfort zone and live an unapologetically passionate life – the kind of life we all deserve but are sometimes too scared to reach for. I believe in sharing authentic experiences to encourage, inspire and show you how and where to travel, regardless of your budget.
MORE ABOUT ME
My love affair with travel became a long-term commitment when I left my office job back in 2010 and set off on a five months solo trip across South and Southeast Asia. Little did I know that this trip would turn my life upside down, in the most wonderfully unexpected way possible. Many adventures and cups of chai on, after a rather unpredictable series of events, I found myself road tripping across the States and falling in love with New York City. It was right there and then, in the midst of the glittering city lights and the smell of possibilities filling up the air, when I knew I could never get back to 9-5. And I never did.
Without much of a plan other than knowing that I wanted to keep travelling, I started working freelance as an SEO consultant which is how I’ve been supporting myself (and my passion for travel!) until this day. I’m not a permanent sell-all-you-own nomad as I like having a base in between my trips, but I travel as much and as often as I can, often solo.
